PTI challenges NA-120 by polls results in ECP

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has challenged the results of NA-120 by polls in Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) today.

According to media reports, PTI candidate Dr. Yasmeen Rashid submitted application in the commission. The application claimed there were major irregularities in the results of elections.

"There were 29, 000 unregistered votes in the constituency," Ms. Rashid claimed in her appeal.

She further stated that despite her numerous appeals no action was taken by the authorities.

Meanwhile, PTI spokesperson Naeem-ul-Haq confirmed that PTI has challenged election results of NA-120. "After 1977 no election has been given certificate of transparent elections," he said.

The by-polls on NA-120 seat was conducted after former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was disqualified by Supreme Court in final verdict of Panama Leaks.

His wife, Kalsoom Nawaz, however won back the seat after a tough competition with PTI candidate Dr. Yasmeen Rashid.
