Iranian forces kill three Pak fishermen

QUETTA - Three Pakistani fishermen were killed and two others wounded allegedly by the firing of Iranian maritime security forces after their fishing boat entered Iranian waters on Tuesday. According to sources, two fishing boats mistakenly entered the territorial waters of Iran where Iranian security forces tried to intercept them. However, Iranian forces opened fire on both boats as they tried to escape, killing three fishermen and wounding another two, added the sources. The two fishermen were identified as Shakeel Ahmed and Abdul Haleem, who were stated to be the residents of Lasbela district. The sources said the bodies of fishermen were yet to be handed over to Pakistani authorities. When contacted, SHO Jiwani Imam Bakhsh confirmed the incident and said that efforts were being made to establish contacts with Iranian authorities for the custody of bodies. The Iranian forces also seized one of the boats.
