OUR STAFF REPORTER OKARA - Armed robbers, dacoits and thieves are rampant in Okara as people have been deprived of cash, gold ornaments and valuables worth millions of rupees in 11 such incidents. In the first incident, Sarfraz Ali Khan, a resident of Government Colony, was looted. Three robbers barged into his house, held the family on gunpoint and made off with gold ornaments, cash and mobiles worth Rs470,000. In the second incident, eight dacoits stormed into the house of Aamir Shehzad in 6/1.AL. They locked the inmates in a room and fled away with 8 tolas of gold ornaments, mobiles, TV, and a cash of Rs 50,000. The third incident took place in Baman Wala where Faiz Ahmad along with his friends Mohammad Arshad, Nasrullah, Ghulam Rasul, Rehmat Ali and Akbar was going back home in his car. On their way to home near 3 /GD, 4 armed robbers intercepted them and snatched 4 mobiles and a cash of Rs. 44,400 from them and ran away. Likewise, Manzoor Ahmad of Haveli Lakha along with his friend Abdur Razzak was riding his bike (6208/BNK). On their way, three armed men intercepted them and snatched their bike, 3 mobiles and Rs 3500. Separately, resident of 18/D Iftikhar Ahmad along with his companions Jaffer Hussain and Manzoor Hussain was riding a rickshaw. On their way to home, 4 armed stopped them on gun point and snatched their mobiles and Rs 21,320. In the sixth incident, motorcyclist Safdar, a resident of 17/D, was robbed of 2 mobiles and Rs 16,750. In the seventh incident a resident of Mehboob Town, Mukhtar, was looted as he was going with his friend Mohammad Hanif on his bike. Near 43/3.L, two armed men stopped them looted Rs 80,000 and other documents. In the eighth incident, a resident of 31/2.L namely Mohammad Rafique was deprived of 3 mobiles, pistol and cash in his house. The ninth incident took place in Jassokay Suhaag where from the house of Khalid thieves stole away a buffalo worth Rs 150,000. In the 10th incident, from the corral of Ghulam Mustafa in Sultan Nagar, accused Asif, Zahoor, Ghulam Nabi and Chitta Dogar allegedly stole away 17 goats worth Rs 500,000. VILLAGER LOOTED ON PHONE: A fraudulent person embezzled thousands of rupees of a person who was asked, You have won a prize of Rs 500,000. Mohammad Yousaf, a resident of Bediyan road area of Lahore phoned Sarfraz of Mohalla Ahmadabad and told him that the latter had won the prize, imposing a condition that he must send an easyload of Rs10,000 through easy paisas. Having sent the easyload, Sarfraz went to Lahore on the addressed as he was told. Having reached there he came to know that he was scammed.
