Rs122m allocated for 35 hospitals

LAHORE Secretary Zakat & Ushr Punjab Imran Nasir Khan has said that Rs122 million have been issued to the health welfare committees of 35 national level hospitals of the province for the treatment of needy people. He added that this amount has been issued from the Zakat Fund as first 6 monthly installments for the year 2011-12. He said this while presiding over a high-level meeting at his office on Wednesday. Imran Nasir Khan said that in past the amount was issued by the federal government but after 18th Amendment, it became the responsibility of the provincial government. He said that Rs. 6 crore 3 lakh have been issued to the health welfare committees of 15 hospitals of Lahore likewise, Rs. 3 crore 79 lakh 25 thousand issued to 11 hospitals of Rawalpindi, Rs. 1 crore 75 thousand issued to 3 hospitals of Multan, Rs. 55 lakh issued to 2 hospitals of Faisalabad, Rs. 45 lakh issued to 2 hospitals of Bahawalpur, Rs. 12 lakh 50 thousand issued one hospital of Rahim yar Khan and Rs. 25 lakh has been issued to one hospital of Narowal district.
