Two killed in cylinder blast

OUR STAFF REPORTER SADIQABAD - A woman and her daughter, who suffered burn injuries in a cylinder blast, could not survive the wounds in Sheikh Zayed Hospital, Rahim Yar Khan, while five other people died in separate incidents. In the house of Dharmi Mai in Chak 103/P Amangarh of the tehsil, the cylinder had burst because of gas leakage and a fire erupted. Later the fire engulfed the whole house. Resultantly, Dharmi Mai, her 3-year-old daughter Bindia, Bhagwandas,45, and Mariyam,30, suffered critical injuries. The injured were moved to Shiekh Zayed Hospital where Dharmi and Bindia succumbed to burn injuries while Bhagwandas was stated to be in critical condition. However, Mariyam is out of danger now. In the cylinder blast, roof of the house caved in and valuables worth thousands of rupees were also burnt as a result of fire in the house. In the second incident, unknown persons raped a woman on her way to fields and killed her by wrapping a cloth around her nose and mouth in village Hasanabad of tehsil Rahim Yar Khan. Police seized the body and shifted it to a hospital for post mortem. Ghulam Qasims wife Hajan Mai,32, went to fields to cut fodder for her domesticated animals but did not returned and found killed in the fields. In another incident, a child fell from his housetop where he was playing in the corridor in Chak 138/P Rahim Yar Khan. He was shifted to a hospital where he could not survive the fatal head injury. The hospital administration has handed over the body to his heirs after legal formalities. Ten-year-old Kalia was playing on his rooftop. Suddenly, his foot slipped. He lost his balance, fell down flat and hit his head on the corridor floor. As he fell down, he lost his consciousness and was immediately shifted to the hospital in critical condition but succumbed to injuries. In separate accidents, three persons were run over by vehicles and killed. In the first accident, Fida Hussain, a resident of Sardargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, was riding his motorcycle. Meanwhile, a tractor-trolley coming from the opposite side ran over his bike. In critical condition, Fida Hussain was shifted to Sheikh Zayed Hospital where he succumbed to the injuries. Likewise, 45-year-old Muran Buksh, a resident of Tarinda Murad Khan, was crushed by a car while he was crossing a road. He was moved to the hospital where he breathed his last. Similarly, 35-year-old Irshad, a resident of Pakka Laran, was crushed to death by a trailer when he was riding his bike. All the three drivers of the vehicles managed to escape.
