KARACHI - Police on Thursday killed a bandit in an alleged encounter while arrested over a dozen suspects in various raids and operation in different parts of the metropolis.

According to the details, three armed bandits were barged into a house located in Block 2, PECHS and held the family hostage on gunpoint. The robbers were busy collecting valuables from the house when police rushed the spot as neighbours made a call on police helpline.

Police asked bandits to surrender when gunmen were resorted firing to avoid arrest which resulting encounter took place. During exchange of fire one of the dacoits gunned down while his accomplices were managed to flee.

Police recovered weapons and looted valuables from the possession of deceased bandit. Police shifted the body to morgue for identification after autopsy while registered the case against unknown culprits. On the other side, Karachi police claimed to have arrested thirteen suspects in different raids and operations.

CIA police claimed to have busted a gang of extortionists while arrested three of their comrades in a raid conducted in Arambagh police station. Police said that the accused persons including Rizwan, Own Khan and Faizullah were involved in various sort of criminal activities. Police said that the gang have been unearth when they got two million rupees in extortion from a businessman. Police said that culprits used to collect the information about the family members and threaten them. Police said that the culprits confessed to commits various similar activities while further investigation is underway.

Shah Latif police claimed to have arrested two gangsters involved in number of criminal activities while recovered weapons from their possession. Police said that the accused persons including Ghos Bux and Imam Bux were associated with Lyari gangster Sohail aka Dada and involved in number of criminal activities including extortion, robberies and street crimes and others. Guberg police claimed to have arrested three street criminals including Aman, Asif and Jawaid while recovered weapons from their possession.

Similarly, Kalri police arrested three criminals including Saleem, Fida Hussain and Zain-ul-Abidin while recovered weapons and narcotics from their possession. Korangi Industrial Area police and Zaman Town police arrested two street criminals while recovered weapons and snatched motorbikes from their possession. Police said that both accused persons were involved in number of street crimes and robberies while further investigation of the accused persons is underway.
