ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader from Naushehra Zulfikar Bacha on Thursday joined the Pakistan People’s Party.

Bacha, who was a former ticket holder of the PML-N from NA-6 constituency Nowshera, announced the decision after meeting former president Asif Ali Zardari here.

PPP Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) President Humayun Khan, Khawaja Muhammad Khan Hoti, Behramand Tangi and others were also present on the occasion.

After joining the PPP , Zulfikar Bacha said that it was the leadership of Zardari which gave identity to the people of KP.

“The people have the young leadership headed by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Every Pakistani should support the PPP chairman,” he said.

Separately, PPP chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and British High Commissioner Thomas Drew at the British High Commission.

The PPP chief discussed matters of mutual interests with the visiting dignitary and the British envoy, said a party statement.

Meanwhile, PPP General Secretary South Punjab Natasha Daulatana said that the PPP public gathering in Multan will be a historic one like the rally in Islamabad.

She said that every PPP public gathering will be historic from now onwards. “The PPP has served the most the people of South Punjab. The PPP made a prime minister from South Punjab and has a firm resolve to give the people of the area their own province,” she said.

Daultana said that the people should strengthen the PPP and its young leader Bilawal.

In a separate statement, Zardari expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of a capsized boat in Thatha and sought a report from the Sindh government in this regard.

Zardari directed the elected representatives and party office-bearers to provide every support to the victims’ families.

He also instructed the Sindh government to pay compensation to the bereaved families and provide medical treatment to the injured.
