‘Second wife’ moves court against ex-PM Gilani

MULTAN - A woman claiming to be the lawfully wedded wife of former Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has filed a lawsuit against Gilani, urging the court to direct Gilani to pay her Rs500 million as (maintenance) nan o nafqa.

The court has summoned the former premier on next hearing which is scheduled to take place on December 21.

A spokesman of Gilani House declared the claims of the woman false and said that the lady appeared to be mentally ill. The woman namely Nasim Mai claimed that she tied knot with Yousuf Raza, 20 years ago and she was left helpless as the PPP Vice Chairman denied her basic rights including nan o nafqa. The spokesman further stated that the woman had raised this fake claim in the past as well.

Meanwhile, People’s Lawyer Forum announced to appear before the court on December 21 and defend Yousuf Raza.
