PML-N led federal government is all set to send top bosses of all state-owned oil and gas bodies on packing apparently owing to spiraling up energy crisis in the country, reliable sources said on Friday.
The sources in petroleum and natural resources ministry told that top brass of ruling Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) has finally decided to get rid from chiefs of all state-run oil and gas organizations ostensibly due to worsening energy crisis of the country. And, as a result to this important decision pertaining removal of heavy weight heads including managing directors of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), Pakistan State Oil (PSO), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL), Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) and chief executive officers (CEOs) of Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) would face ouster. Similarly, appointment of new chairman of regulatory bodies particularly Oil and gas Regulatory authority (OGRA) and National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) is also likely.
"However, notification of removal would be issued later after getting approval from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, a senior official at petroleum ministry said, adding, "Appointment on top slots in state owned enterprises would be based on relevant experience, driven by values of integrity, passion, merit and transparency."
He also said that the federal government would be advertising these high profile specific jobs through respective ministries.
Sources in ruling party said that since PML-N is determined to strengthen fragile economy and Pakistan as well so it has also been decided to do away with chiefs of oil & gas , water & power, banking & finance, regulatory bodies , communications and others.
They said PML-N leadership has devised a strategy to steer out the country from soaring crisis of electricity load shedding, tsunami of inflation, bad law & order etc, adding, that it's time to play in a changing Pakistan and to take the country towards the destination of prosperity and sustainability.
