NA body seeks details from secy CAD


ISLAMABAD  - A parliamentary Panel on Wednesday showed grave concerns over 750% increase in fees of private schools in the federal capital since 2003 and directed Secretary CADD to give complete details regarding fee structure of these schools.
A meeting of National Assembly standing committee over Capital Administration and development (CAD) that held under the chair of Jamshed Dasti expressed displeasure over huge increase in the fee structure of the private schools functional in the federal capital and said that unfortunately education has become commercialise in our country and private schools have taken full advantage of it.
Committee said that private schools have increase fee structure without prior approval from any authority and it has become difficult for parents to afford such huge fees. Legislators said that from 2003, 750% increase has been witnessed in the fees of private schools and directed Secretary CADD Riffat Shaheen to hold meeting with private schools over their fee structure and submit details during next meeting of the committee.
Through dual educational curriculums we have drawn a line between rich and poor, committee observed. Standing committee said that private schools have been established in small houses and other facilities including play grounds are not there in these schools which are damaging health of students. 
Secretary CADD Riffat Shaheen apprised the committee that CADD has no control over private schools however now a bill has been tabled in the national assembly to address this issue. She told that at the time of registration private schools mention fee structure however they increased fees according to their own will. Secretary CADD said that for uniformity in curriculum and fee structure we have to sit together because it’s the issue of our coming generations.
Chairman committee Jamshed Dasti resented the debate over homosexuality in a private school and said that in a Muslim country such things would not be tolerated.
Legislative body also showed resentment over delay in construction work on National bank in Islamabad from last six year and directed officials to give complete details that why this project has been delayed and also to fix the responsibility against the responsible behind it.   NA body also asked them to give details that how much amount has been spent over this project so far.
Committee directed Executive Director PIMS advise doctors working in the PIMS to improve their attitude with patients and behave with all the patients in well manner.
