AIOU intensifies enrolment drive

ISLAMABAD - Allama Iqbal Open University has enhanced its enrolment drive in the recent years throughout the country to bring dropped-out students in the educational net.

This was stated by speakers at a colloquium held here to review the annual status of Education Report–ASER 2016, a press release said on Tuesday.

The university’s 44 regional offices have been activated to reach the people at their door-step to get them registered in the University’s education programs that are avail from Matric to PhD level.

The AIOU has the distinction of having largest number of students’ enrolment in the country, with 1.3 million students.

The participants appreciated the efforts of the Vice Chancellor, making the Matric education free for the students of Balochistan and FATA, besides extending various scholarship schemes for ensuring education to all segments of the people.

The colloquium was organised by the university’s department of Educational Planning Policy Studies and leadership to share and discuss the findings of the annual status of education report, 2016 was discussed. Mahum Tanveer and Waqas Bajwa the regional coordinators of ‘Idara e Taleem o Agahi’ presented the report.
