Governing Body of the Lahore Development Authority on Saturday accorded administrative approval for executing six new development projects at a cost of Rs2 billion.
These projects included rehabilitation of 2.75 kilometers long Shabbir Usmani Road, from Jinnah Hospital Chowk Maulana Shoukat Ali Road to Y-Junction Barket Market, New Garden
Town at a cost of Rs134.5 million.
Construction of a flyover at Shaukat Khanum intersection for facilitation 200,000 vehicles daily, remodelling and improvement of U-turns on Khayaban-e-Jinnah and construction of four pedestrian bridges on main boulevard Johar Town will cost Rs947.31 million.
Installation of road signage along Canal Bank Road from Doctor’s Hospital to Mughalpura underpass will be carried out with a sum of Rs 200 million.
Project for remodeling of Doongi Ground, MM Alam Road through enhancing landscape, providing entrance arcade and central entertainment area will be undertaken at a cost of Rs110 million.
A sum of Rs100.50 million will be spent on rehabilitation and enhancing the landscape of Noor Jahan Road from Hussain Chowk to Liberty Roundabout Gulberg.
MPA Bao Muhammad Akhtar from Lahore, Secretary Housing, Punjab Caption ® Khurram Agha, Director General LDA Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Managing Director WASA Sayed Zahid Aziz, Additional Director Generals LDA, Samia Saleem, Zeeshan Shabbir Rana and Muhammad Khizar Afzal, Chief Town Planner Khalid Mahmood Sheik, Chief Metropolitan Planner Waheed Ahmad Butt, Chief Engineer LDA Asrar Saeed, Chief Engineer TEPA Saif Ur Rehman and representatives of the Local Government, Housing, P&D and Finance Departments as well as of Commissioner Lahore Division attended the meeting.
