Muslims raise rumpus about US move

Recognising Jerusalem as Israeli capital

SIALKOT/SARGODHA/Mandi Bahauddin/TOBA TEK SINGH/HAFIZABAD/KASUR-Hundreds of thousands of activists of various religious and political parties took out protest rallies after Jumma prayers against America's recognition of Jerusalem as Israeli capital.
The speakers from Jamaat-e-Islami, Jamaatud Dawa, Tehreek Labaik Ya Rasool Allah and other organisations strongly criticised US President Donald Trump and gave a strong message to refrain from such nasty practices. The people belonging to all walks of life participated in these anti-US rallies. They marched on the main inter-city roads. They were carrying banners and placards. They also chanted anti-US slogans. The protesting people also burnt the US flags and effigies of Trump.
Earlier, the Ulema condemned the US recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital during their Jumma Sermons in all the Jamia mosques.
The Ulema unanimously passed several condemnation resolutions. They warned the US to refrain from the nasty move, which has mounted the global concern over Trump's Jerusalem plan.
The Jamaat-e-Islami staged a sit-in at Sialkot city's congested Allama Iqbal Chwok against America. They said that Trump's nasty move would prejudge the final talks. They said that Trump's approach could extinguish his own efforts to break Middle East peace while igniting the flames of conflict in a region already reeling from crises in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Qatar.
PTI Stalwart Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that US President Trump's policies had become a danger for the whole world.
In Sargodha, Jamaatud Dawa, Difa-e-Pakistan Council, Jamaat-e-Islami, Majlis Wehdatul Muslimeen, Imamia Students Organization and other religious parties and organisations observed protest against the American move.
The demonstrators blocked Sargodha-Khushab Road and shouted slogans against US President. The rally marched from factory area Chowk to Press Club. They rebuffed the American president's decision and termed it grudge with the Muslims and Islam. Strands in Mandi Bahauddin held a procession in front of Press Club against the US decision. They were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans against Trump and claiming that Jerusalem is first Qibla of the Muslims. They said Trump's dirty move was being strongly condemned in Muslim World.
Likewise, a number of rallies were taken out at here, Kamalia, Gojra and Pirmahal by scores of people belonging to religious and political parties. Three separate rallies were brought out by Difa-e-Pakistan Council, Milli Muslim League and Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen.
During their Friday sermons in Hafizabad, Ulema said that the recent decision of the US President had injured the religious sentiments of the Muslims. They demanded withdrawal of the decision of the US President. They further said that the arbitrary and uncalled for decision was another trump card which would further increase extremism and terrorism in the world.
In Kasur, the rallies taken out under the banner of Jamaatud Dawah heaped scorn on the United States for recognising Jerusalem as capital of Israel. The rallies were brought out in Khuddian Khas, Changa Manga, Kot Radha Kishan and Kanganpur. Addressing the participants, speakers said that this step would instigate an unending war in the Middle East. They urged the Muslim Ummah to shun differences and unite as the world powers are now hell-bent on their annihilation.
