A number of PML-N workers took out a rally as a protest against the re-consideration of de-seated MNA Iftikhar Cheema as candidate in the by election to the constituency NA-101.
Headed by PML-N leaders Malik Shahbaz and Mushtaq Rehmani, the rally started from Allahabad and the participants marched through GT Road to Allah Wala Chowk. The participants of the rally were carrying placards inscribed with different slogans.
Speakers stated that de-seated MNA Iftikhar Cheema had not only lost confidence of 100,000 population of city Wazirabad within eight years but also defamed the election symbol of Tiger during recent LB polls. Thus, he does not deserve reconsideration as candidate, they added.
“Iftikhar Cheema used the name of Quaid-i-Azam for his politics but never obeyed the principles of Quaid who never hurt the confidence of his people and earned a good name,” he said. they said that Hamid Nasir Chattha of NA-01 also did transparent politics for 40 years in Tehsil Wazirabad but no one even his opponent raised a finger on his political character, they added.
They said that Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif has become hero of 200 million people of Pakistan only within three years. However, they added he is not being given extension then why Iftikhar Cheema is being awarded with party ticket for third time while he has damaged the confidence of the people and defamed the party. Later, participants of the rally dispersed peacefully laying all placards in the Chowk which took attention of pedestrians.
