KARACHI (APP) - Department of Environmental Health and Toxicology, School of Public Health, State University of New York (SUNY-University at Albany) will collaborate with DUHS School of Public Health in promoting occupational health, environmental health and health policy management.This was agreed upon during a meeting between Dr Haider A Khwaja, from SUNY and DUHS Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Masood Hameed Khan during the former’s visit to Dow University of Health Sciences’s (DUHS) Ojha campus on Tuesday.On the occasion Dr Haider also discussed the latest developments in the area of Public Health coupled with various aspect of collaboration in the above mentioned fields.They were of the consensus opinion that there existed great opportunity to train human resources in public health and also to share knowledge in areas of teaching and research. In a time when there is a dearth of cost effective methods and globally we are striving to find better solutions in promoting health among the marginalized cooperation between these two universities can go a log was in making a positive difference, said Prof Masoos Hameed. Both these universities are leading universities in the national public sectors and the significance of their contribution is enormous. He said this collaboration would result in some great work for the benefit of the people of Pakistan.Earlier, Dr Khwaja along with the Dr Masood Hameed Khan took extensive round of DUHS School of Public Health at Ojha campus. He on the occasion also interacted with the public health graduate students.
