Federal Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid said that the incumbent government was making strenuous efforts to overcome energy crisis by taking tough decisions. He said that the government was working on war-footings to provide maximum relief to energy-starved people.
The government committed to raising living standard of the public through early and smooth provision of all basic facilities to their doorsteps.
Federal Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid stated this while addressing a public meeting near Badiana in Pasrur tehsil here after inaugurating Sui gas supply to two villages Kotli Hajipur and Toriyaanwala on Saturday.
MPA Ch Munawar Gill, Pasrur Assistant Commissioner Touqeer Ilyas Cheema and Pasrur Development Committee Chairman Prof Shehzad Butt, PML-N leaders including Khawaja Saeed Butt were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, Federal Minister Zahid Hamid said that as many as 155 villages of his Constituency (NA-114, Pasrur , Sialkot-V) had been provided with Sui gas supply, adding that gas supply would be ensure to every village and town across the tehsil.
Later, talking to a delegation of Badiana Press Club, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid disclosed that the Punjab government had released a special grant of Rs155 million for the uplift and beautification of Pasrur under a comprehensive plan.
The Federal Minister revealed that a chunk of Rs90 million would be spent on the shifting of local Fruits and Vegetables markets from Pasrur city to its outskirts as the Pasrur Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) had selected a suitable land along main Pasrur-Narowal Road for the purpose.
Zahid Hamid said that Rs65 million would be spent on tough tiling of various main inter-city roads in Pasrur city including Kutchery to Tehsil Gate Road, Nadra Chowk to Shehzada Phaatak, Chowk Muhallah Khokharaan to Tehsil Gate and Godowns Road.  The construction work on these development schemes has already been started, saying that the local historical pool would also be converted into a mini stadium for promoting the sports, games and other healthy activities in the Pasrur area, Federal Minister added.
The Federal Minister also reviewed in details the Pasrur uplift master plan during an important meeting held at Pasrur . He pledged to leave no stone unturned for the uplift of the Pasrur .
