PBC demands Nisar’s resignation

lahore - Criticising federal government over terrorists’ attack at Islamabad District Courts, Pakistan Bar Council Chairman Ramazan Chaudhary has demanded immediate resignation of Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan.
Ramazan said the attacks at Islamabad District Courts had exposed the inefficiency of the present rulers and demanded of the government to take resignation from Ch Nisar for his failure to maintain law and order situation in the country.
He expressed these views while addressing a press conference at Supreme Court Bar Association Lahore registry on Saturday. Ramazan said all courts should be provided foolproof security and number of security personnel should be increased, he pointed out. Ramazan further said the government must announce Rs 10 million for family of each killed person and Rs 5 million for each injured person.
He gave one week ultimatum to the government for making foolproof security of country’s all courts or else black coats would be out on the roads again.
Criticising Supreme Court famous July 31, 2009 judgment, he said the judges of superior courts were removed illegally and such decisions should be reviewed.
Answering to a question about appointment of judges, he said the bar councils were not being consulted in judges’ appointment procedure. He also demanded that the rules of judicial commission should be amended.
Pakistan Bar council Executive Committee’s Ibrar Hassan said evil forces wanted to destroy our national institutions and lamented government for holding dialogue with the terrorists.
