GUJRANWALA: Hundreds of Christian community members staged a protest in front of CPO office against the police failure at arresting the accused involved in the murder of two Christian boys. The protesters claimed that though the Ahmednagar Police have registered a case against local PML-N leader Ejaz Proya for murdering two Shan and Faryad, the police failed to arrest the accused so far. They alleged that the police showing incapability to arrest the accused. The protesters chanted slogans against the police and demanded early action against the accused. Later, the protesters dispersed after getting assurance for early arrest of the accused.–Staff Reporter
PML-N criticised on Panama issue
SHEIKHUPURA: An Awami Muslim League leader criticised PML-N leadership for not cooperating with the opposition on the issue of Panama leaks. Talking to the media, AML district president Murtaza Virk said that hundreds of billions of rupees had plundered by the Sharif family and transferred their bank accounts abroad. Now, they are making different tactics to hoodwink the nation but they would fail to make the people further befool, he said.

286 profiteers caught, fined
HAFIZABAD: More than 286 profiteers were fined by the Special Price Magistrates during a crackdown launched to discourage profiteering across the district.
The SPMs raided various markets and checked rate lists. A total fine amounting to Rs262,200 was imposed on profiteers during the month of April.–Staff Reporter
The SPMs have warned the shopkeepers dealing in essential commodities to display price lists conspicuously and desists from overcharging.
KILN OWNER HELD: The district police claimed to have arrested a brick-kiln owner on violation of child labour act during a raid on Bhatti brick-kiln located on Alipur Road here the other day.
The police also recovered three minors identified as Sajjad Ali, Aftab Ali and Hasnain Abbas. According to police, the children allegedly were forced to work at the brick-kiln by the owner identified as Abid Hussein Hanjra.
The police have registered a case against the accused.
