Over 70 suspects held with huge arms in search ops

/Agencies/monitoring SHEIKHUPURA/SARGODHA/GUJRAT-More than 70 suspects were arrested and huge cache of weapons was recovered from their possession during search operations in different cities of Punjab here on Sunday.
The police said that heavy contingent of Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), on a tip-off regarding the presence of outlaws conducted a search in village Kirtu Pindori of Sheikhupura. The LEAs personnel checked documents and CNICs of the villagers. The police also arrested 28 suspects along with two Kalashnikovs, five pistols, two 12-bore guns, a 22 bore gun and hundreds of bullets.
In Kotha Kerala area of Sarai Alamgir in district Gujrat, the personnel of Pakistan Army, police and intelligence agencies conducted a joint combing operation against the outlaws. During the operation, the security forces arrested 14 suspects and recovered arms including three rifles, Kalashnikovs, SMGs, LMGs, pistols, hundreds of rounds, three vehicles with counterfeit number plates and fake documents from the possession of the detainees.
Meanwhile, the LEAs personnel during search operations in Sargodha, Mianwali and Dera Ghazi Khan apprehended over 40 suspects besides recovery of weapons from their possession.
The arrested suspects were shifted to different undisclosed locations for further interrogation. The LEAs have vowed to continue operations against suspects and criminals during next week.
