SHC issues notice to SALU over ban on students’ entry

KHAIRPUR - The ban imposed on the entry of two students into Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) has not been lifted as yet, prompting the students to go to the court.

According to details, the university’s administration, on the complaint of director students’ affairs, had banned the entry of Shahzad Hussain Shahani and Abid Hussain Shaikh into university premises on September 12 this year, and the ban still remains in place.

The students told this correspondent on Wednesday that mid-term examinations were round the corner, and if the ban was not lifted they might not pass the final exams.

They said that no cause of the ban had been stated by the university’s administration, which had forced them to file a petition in the Sindh High Court (Sukkur Bench) and the court had issued a notice to SALU to reply by November 16.

They appealed to the university’s administration that they be allowed to appear in mid-term examination so that their whole one year could be saved.
