LAHORE - Punjab Minister for Health Khalil Tahir Sindhu paid surprise visits to Nawaz Sharif Hospital Yakki Gate, Said Mitha Hospital and Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital on Tuesday. The minister suspended Additional Medical Superintendent Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital Dr Abdul Hafeez over poor cleanliness condition in the hospital. He took serious notice of heaps of garbage, stagnant water covered with mosquitoes.  Khalil Tahir Sindhu gave warning to MS Dr Zubair Chawala and directed him to remove all garbage and ensure cleanliness in the hospital.
He took a round of different wards of Nawaz Sharif Hospital including emergency, OPD, Laboratory, pharmacy, male and female wards. He enquired about the facilities being extended to the patients. On a complaint from an aya, he directed the MS to conduct inquiry and send a report to him. He expressed satisfaction on overall working of Nawaz Sharif Hospital but asked MS to improve cleanliness condition.
During visit to Said Mitha Hospital, he inquired from patients about the medical facilities being provided at the hospital. All the patients expressed satisfaction and informed that all facilities including medicines are being provided free of cost. MS Dr Haq Nawaz Bharwana informed the Minister that including C.T. Scan, all diagnostic facilities as well as dialysis of kidney patients are being carried out free of cost.
