SIC vows to fully contest LG polls

HAFIZABAD
The Sunni Ittehad Council would field its candidates for the Local Government elections in every union council, said the SIT district president.
Addressing a press conference, Almi Tanzeem Ahle Sunnat Peer Syed Ali Zulqarnain Shah, JUP President Mehar Younas Shahzad Qadri, Naeem Abbas President Sunni Federation and other office bearers said that all the affiliated parties of SIT would contest LG elections from the platform of SIT.
They said that SIT leader Peer Syed Waseemul Hassan Naqvi’s decision to join PTI was his individual decision and no other office bearer had joined PTI. They categorically said that henceforward Waseemul Hassan had no connection whatsoever with the SIT and Mulana Muhammad Sharif Rizvi has been nominated as Patron-in-Chief of Sunni Ittehad Council Hafizabad district.
They called upon the traffic police to ensure smooth traffic in the city.
They criticised the functioning of traffic police in the city and said that the traffic cops only concentrate on collecting fines but do not improve traffic system. They also condemned the presence of prostitution dens in different localities in the city under the patronage of the authorities and called upon the district administration to eliminate such dens.
DACOITY: Two armed men deprived a villager and his wife of gold ornaments and cash amount of Rs300,000 near Nadala Bridge.
According to police source, Muhammad Yousaf along with his wife was on way to his village Kolti Ameer Singh on his bike when two armed bandits intercepted him and snatched away 5 tolas gold ornaments from his wife and cash of rupees ten thousand.
Meanwhile a swindler snatched away Rs. 30000/ from Muhammad latif of Mohallah Siddique Gunj from out side o local bank. The police are investigating.
