LOS ANGELES: Tom Hanks has been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. The 57-year-old actor has been battling with symptoms of the life-long condition - which occurs when the body doesn’t produce enough insulin to function properly - since he was 36, but he has only just received the full diagnosis from a medical professional.  Speaking on the ‘Late Show with David Letterman’, he said: ‘’I went to the doctors and they said, ‘You know those high blood sugar numbers you’ve been living with since you were 36, well you’ve graduated, you’ve got Type 2 Diabetes young man.’ ‘’ Hanks was told to reduce weight  to help control his symptoms.–EX
