LAHORE – Jamiat Ahle Hadith has criticized Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for ignoring religious seminaries while distributing laptop computers among students .
In a letter written to the Chief Minister and heads of seminaries examination boards of other schools of thought on Monday, the central spokesman of JAH Hafiz Khalid Shahzad Farooqi warned that thousands of students would siege the CM House, if the CM did not include seminary students in the laptops recipients lists within one week.
The letter stated that the Punjab Government’s laptop distribution strategy had exposed its bias and discrimination against the students of seminaries, who also have to appear in the Graduation and Masters examination by Punjab University compulsorily as part of their curriculum. Farooqi said the laptop distribution was already under sharp criticism, being termed as a political stunt, and because of the non transparent procedures in purchasing and selection of recipients.
