Students shine at debating championship

LAHORE (PR) School of International Studies in Sciences & Arts hosted the 3rd All Pakistan SISA Individual Debating & Public Speaking Championship 2012, here on Monday, in which 43 students from 15 educational institutions participated.
The participating institutions included the University of Engineering & Technology, Government College University, Lahore School of Economics, FAST-National University, and various branches of the Lahore Grammar School, Beaconhouse and Lahore Model School.
Mr. Waqas Khan was invited as Chief Guest at the function and gave away the prizes to the winners.
In the first category of the Impromptu Speech, the first prize was won by Fazl-e-Rabi Cheema of the UET; Zarak Shah from LSE won the 2nd prize, while the 3rd prize went to Anoshe Zahoor of LGS.
In the Interpretive Reading category, the 1st prize was won by Khwaja Yaseen of GCU, 2nd prize went to Anoshe Zahoor of LGS and the 3rd place went to Ishmal Malik also from LGS
Hannan Tariq from FAST-NU won the After Dinner Speech category. Fazl-e-Rabi Cheema won the Persuasive Speech category, while Rida Fatima and Anoshe Zahoor won 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively.
Fazl-e-Rabi Cheema was declared the overall champion of the SIDPSC 2012, while Anoshe Zahoor won 2nd prize and the overall 3rd prize was won by Resham Zubair.
The event was sponsored by London Metropolitan University, Nestle, and Gunj Glass.
