GUJRANWALA-Commissioner Gujranwala Division Capt (r) Muhammad Asif inaugurated newly-constructed model cattle market here on Friday at Emanabad Gujranwala. Addressing the gathering, he said that the government was trying to raise living standard of farmers who are backbone of the economy. He said the new cattle market was equipped with all the necessary facilities like cattle sheds, boarding and lodging for customers and fodder shops. Market Managing Director Shahzad Khalid said that it was set up at six acre land and has the capacity of sale purchase of about 2,500 animals at a time. He further said veterinary doctors and assistants would also be provided by the government while no fee will be charged from the farmers on the sale or purchase of animals.
