Doctors protest arrest of their colleagues
Doctors at Civil Hospital held a demonstration here on Saturday under the banner of Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) to protest against registration of cases against their colleagues under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATC) and their subsequent arrests.
Wearing black bands around their arms, they were raising slogans in support of arrested doctors.
Led by Dr Manthar Thebo, the protestors strongly criticised the authorities for booking their colleagues under the ATC.
They said that such steps created fear in doctors, forcing them to leave the country.
They demanded the authorities withdraw, what they called, fabricated cases against doctors and release them; otherwise they would intensify their protests.
