LAHORE - Former Pakistan cricket team chief selector Abdul Qadir has said that assets of the top brasses of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should be made public and, in case of any discrepancies, NAB should apprehend the culprits.
Expressing his views in Waqat News’ programme ‘Game Beat’, Qadir said: “The PCB is teeming with people of dubious record. Shaharyar Khan should have refused to become chairman for the second time. Najam Sethi has polluted cricket board with dirty politics and he has transformed this prestigious body into power and fighting club by amending and changing its constitution. His cronies are destroying the game.”
He said Waqar Younis didn’t deserve to be Pakistan team head coach. “Not a single team of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has hired the services of Waqar Younis which clearly exposes his coaching and caliber. Instead of extending his contract for upcoming series, Waqar must be replaced by a better one.”
Speaking about PSL’s ambassadors, Qasir said that Ramiz Raja and Waseem Akram visited Pakistan only to mint money and prefer to spend most of their time in India. “Both have been made ambassadors of the league ignoring Majid Khan, Javid Miandad, Mudasar Nazar and Mushtaq Muhammad which is really very unfortunate.”
“It is the most controversial cricket board in the history of the country and the top brass has set up the PSL to destroy and demoralize Pakistan cricket. Now only sincere technocrats can save the sinking ship of Pakistan cricket.” he concluded.
