JI wants Nawaz’s removal as N president

AHMEDPUR EAST - Jamaat-e-Islami Parliamentary Leader in Punjab Assembly Syed Waseem Akhtar said that his party would make electrical alliance with the PML-N if Nawaz Sharif was removed as the party president.
He was talking to The Nation in the hall of Municipal Committee Yazman after attending a condolence reference held for late journalist Haji Abdul Haq. It was arranged by Press Club Bahawalpur in collaboration with Ubqari Foundation.
Dr Waseem Akhtar said that Jamaat-e-Islami would forge an election alliance with likeminded parties. He demanded the restoration of Bahawalpur province and urged PML-N leadership to fulfill its election commitment. He stated that the burning issues of Bahawalpur could be resolved only if Bahawalpur province restored. He alleged that incumbent government has ignored ex-Bahawalpur and South Punjab in all the spheres of life.
Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s claim of development of South Punjab were false. He said in 2010-2011, the chief minister earmarked Rs23 billion for 114 development schemes of South Punjab but not a single penny was spent.
The allocated huge amount was transferred to Lahore and upper Punjab projects.
He said that the government was giving Rs20 subsidy to each passenger of Metro bus in Lahore. Moreover, he said, in his constituency, two fourth class Lahore-based employees had been recruited on the orders of Hamza Shahbaz Sharif and posted in Dring stadium Lahore. He said that educated youth of Bahawalpur were knocking the doors of the governmental and semi-governmental departments but no one is accommodating them.
