Police asked to arrest killers of JI local leader

Rawalpindi - Jamat Islami (JI) Pakistan Secretary General Liaquat Baloch asked the Rawalpindi police to arrest the killers of Muhammad Tahir Khan immediately or else JI would stage a day long sit-ins in front of offices of Regional and City Police Officers. “I warn police to arrest the killers of local leader of JI Muhammad Tahir Khan or else activists will stage sit-ins outside the RPO and CPO offices,” he said.
He expressed these views while addressing a protesting rally taken out by JI city chapter yesterday at Waris Khan against police for not arresting the killers of JI local leader. On the occasion, besides large number JI activists, office-bearers Shamas-ur-Rehman Swati, Raza Ahmed Shah, Raja Muhammad Jawad, Sajjad Ahmed Abbasi and Uzair Hamid were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the protestors, JI Pakistan Secretary General Liaquat Baloch said that unknown killers brutally murdered the party local leader and former union council nazim of Dhoke Khabba Muhammad Tahir Khan on October 21, 2014 but police despite filing of FIR could not arrest the killers.
He said that JI approached Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif, Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shehbaz Shairf IG Police Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera and took the matter with them but all in vein. He said that police were not cooperating with applicants and failed to trace the murderers of Tahir Khan.
The protestors were holding banners and placards mentioning slogans in favour of Muhammad Tahir Khan and against police.
