Three ‘robbers’ were killed in two separate shootouts with police and their accomplices managed to escape on Friday.
Police said that a notorious robber who had been declared a proclaimed offender (PO) Javed alias Jaidi was killed in crossfire with police in Ismailpur locality of Bahawalpur. His other accomplices managed to flee the scene after the shootout. The police also recovered a pistol from possession of the killed robber.
In Faisalabad, the police signalled to stop two motorcycles, carrying four persons, in Dijikot area. However, they instead started firing on the police and tried to flee which led to a shootout that continued for quite some time. As a result, two robbers were killed and their two accomplices managed to flee. The police recovered arms and snatched motorcycle from the scene. The bodies have been shifted to hospital for autopsy. Identity of the deceased outlaws could not be ascertained yet. The police have launched investigation to establish their identities.
