ISLAMABAD - Supreme Court has expressed annoyance in Khalid Khalil and Hassan Abdullah missing persons cases and sought report from IG Punjab within 24 hours.
The court has also ordered KPK government to constitute an inquiry committee comprising senior officers for recovery of Sayyab, a missing person.
Justice Jawwad S Khawaja has remarked “we want solution of missing persons matter in accordance with law and the Constitution. All missing persons are citizens of this country. Therefore, proceedings should be initiated in conformity with law. Solid evidence is available in certain missing persons cases. Therefore, these can be recovered by taking action against the persons allegedly involved therein.” A 3-member bench of SC led by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja took up the missing persons case for hearing on Thursday.  Amna Masood Janjua and others appeared in the court.
The court was told that Elite Force had picked up Khalid Khalil and Hassan Abdullah who had gone missing from Lahore.  Police and Rescue-15 were also approached in this regard. It was occasion of marriage of sister of Khalid Khalil and Hassan Abdullah had come there to attend the marriage ceremony. Several persons had spotted them taking these two persons with them.  Justice Jawwad S Khawaja remarked “we had sought report from IG Punjab. Why the report has not been furnished. IG Punjab should present this report before the court. Firm evidence is available in this case. Therefore, the matters should come to open.” The court later adjourned the hearing of the case till Friday (today).  The three members bench presided over by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja also heard the case of Sayyab who had gone missing from Malakand.
The court was told that Muhammad Sayyab had come to Mardan to celebrate Eid ul Azha in 2008. He was to go back after purchasing goat and other sacrificial animals. In the meantime he went missing. A telephone call was received by his family members in their home after one year that police had locked him in police station Harki.  News also made way to media that police had arrested three persons including Zahir Shah, Aamir and Muhammad Sayyab.  Relatives of missing person who were in police department also confirmed that he was in the custody of police.
However, it became known later that police had kept this person secretly at some place. Now five years have been elapsed but the whereabouts of this young man have not been traced out.
The court directed Advocate General KPK to constitute an inquiry committee consisting of senior officers to probe into this matter and present report before it within one week.
