MANDI BAHAUDDIN-Two women and a man committed suicide due to poverty and other domestic issues here on Sunday.
The father of three daughters, a resident of Chhichhranwali, Tehsil Phalia, committed suicide by jumping into Rasul Qadirabad Link Canal near Helan Bridge.
Nazim parked his motorbike on the canal bank and asked his nephew on mobile phone to collect the motorcycle as he was going to commit suicide by jumping into the canal. A Rescue 1122 team started search operation but the body could not be traced. Probably the man was depressed over his financial hardship, his neighbours said.
In another incident, a dispute arose between Manzooran Bibi and her daughter-in-law over payment of electric bill in suburban village Luk of Phalia. The daughter-in-law left the house in rage and went to her parents. Manzooran Bibi got annoyed and swallowed fumigating tablets and died on the spot.
Same day, Shahnaz Bibi after having quarreled with her husband Munir left house with her three year old daughter Zuhra and jumped into Rasul Qadirabad Link Canal near Qadirabad Barrage. Rescue team, since then have been searching for the dead bodies but to no avail.
