KHANEWAL - The Labaik Ya Rasoolallah long march was accorded a warm welcome at the toll plaza here by the activists and local leaders of the Jamaat Ahle Sunnat, the Sunni Threek and the Difa-e-Pakistan Council.The long march which started from Rawalpindi and heading towards Karachi, its ending point, is being led by Sunni Ittehad Council Pakistan Chairman Sahibzada Fazal Karim, accompanied by Syed Riaz Hussain Shah and Col (r) Dr Sarfraz Saifi. Addressing hundreds of the participants, Karim, who is also an MNA, said that Pakistan is not a secular country rather she is an Islamic state, and “we will continue our efforts till the enforcement of Islamic law in the country established in the name of Allah after numerous sacrifices”. He urged the Muslim rulers across the world to unite for the cause of ensuring sanctity of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and supremacy of Islam. He also said, “Islam is the religion of peace and we always condemn terrorism. Terrorism is affecting our beloved country and also defaming the image of Pakistan and our religion in the world.”He announced that a Sunni power conference will be held in Faisalabad in February 2012. “Our religious platform is Jamaat Ahle Sunnat and political platform is Sunni Ittehad Council.” Mazhar Saeed Kazmi from Multan, Shahid Raza Qadri, Mehmoodul Hassan Butt and other local leaders of Khanewal said that the SIC was a religious power and the power would surely destroy all the enemies of Islam. Consisting of 50 vehicles with hundreds of activists, the long march then left for Multan amidst slogans for Islam and against the US and the makers of an anti Islamic film produced in America recently. They all were holding green flags and banners.
