LAHORE - Pebble Breakers booked berth in the main final of the Seasons Canola Polo Cup 2016 while Rijas qualified for the subsidiary final here on Thursday at the Lahore Polo Club (LPC) ground.

As many as four matches were decided on the third day of the event which was graced by LPC president Irfan Ali Hyder as chief guests and executive committee member Azam Hayat Noon, Saqib Khan Khakwani, Agha Najeeb and LPC secretary Col (R) Shoaib Aftab as guests of honour.

First three matches were of two chukkers and were contested among the losing sides of Pool A in the league round matches. In the first match, Blue Star overpowered Sapphire 4-1. From the winning side, Khurram Munir scored a brace. Rijas displayed quality polo and edged out Blue Star 2-1 in the second match. The third match saw Rijas emerging as triumphant against Sapphire with the score of 2-1 and qualifying for the subsidiary final.

In the fourth and last match of the day conducted between the winning sides of the league round matches, Pebble Breakers registered an impressive victory against Learning Alliance overwhelming them by 9-4 and booking their berth in the main final. From Pebble Breakers , Ahmed Ali Tiwana was star of the day as he hammered fabulous five goals.

Today (Friday), the matches between Pool B losing and winning sides will vie against their respective rivals to book berth in the main and subsidiary finals of the tournament.
