Islamabad - Islamabad has attained a hallmark as it got registered in the Healthy City Programme network of the World Health Organisation.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) Representative in Pakistan has fully supported the initiative and said that it will be a game changer in the present scenario of health systems, said the CDA officials here on Friday. Chairman CDA along with WHO Representative has welcomed the participants and reflected their vision for this important initiative.

The Mayor stressed the need for intense oral collaboration and joint efforts by all the departments of CDA.

Mayor Sheikh Anser Aziz said that in order to provide state-of-the-art medical facilities in the city , MCI is taking different steps and inclusion in Healthy city program of World Health Organization is a matter of honour for Islamabad . Under this programme , state-of-the-art medical and allied facilities would be provided to all residents of the city particularly the population residing in the rural areas of the city and low paid residents.

On this occasion, Dr Assai Ardakani, representative of WHO in Pakistan appreciated the initiative of MCI and said that continuous support extended by the organisation to initiate healthy city programme in the beautiful capital of Pakistan is a laudable step.  He said that under the leadership of Mayor Islamabad , this programme will surely bring its fruit in the city .   

Furthermore, CDA has issued SOPs for prevention of misplacement of files from Law Wing, CDA. The action has been taken to do away with complaints regarding misplacement of files from Law Wing. Law Wing of CDA is passing through consistent up-gradation since Member Administration Muhammad Yasir Pirzada took charge of his office. The member has said that it had been noticed with great concern that various important files mostly of Estate Management-I, Estate Management-II have been lost during handling of court cases. At some time these files were referred to concerned Advocate/ Counsel by Law Wing or concerned Directorate directly where these remain unattended for a considerable period of time. These files containing important variable record and should be kept in proper custody. In order to effectively stop breach of confidentiality and ensure safe custody of official files, Standing Operating Procedure has been approved after due deliberations, said the CDA officials.

As per new SOP, no file regarding legal opinion shall be marked to any of the CDA counsels either by Law Directorate or by any of the concerned Directorate, except Legal Advisor and Additional legal Advisors. No file should remain unattended with the diary clerk for more than two days otherwise responsibility will be fixed upon diary clerk.
