Woman among four killed in IHK

ISLAMABAD - Indian troops killed three youth and a woman in Handwara area of Kupwara district of occupied Kashmir Monday.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the fresh act of state terrorism took place when a joint operation by Indian army, police and paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force in the morning.

Director General of Police (DGP) SP Vaid claimed that the three youth were killed in an ‘encounter with the troops’ while a woman, identified as Misra Bano, was also fell prey to firing’.

Meanwhile, authorities have suspended mobile and internet services in Sopore and Handwara areas of the district.

Indian troops in their unabated acts of state terrorism in occupied Kashmir have martyred 94,877 innocent Kashmiris, including 7,099 in custody since January 1989.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service on the occasion of the World Human Rights Day, revealed that these killings rendered 22,862 women widowed and 107,674 children orphaned.

The report said that the troops molested or disgraced 11,036 women and damaged 108,582 residential houses and other structures. It maintained that Indian troops and police subjected at least 8,000 people to custodial disappearance in the period.

The report pointed out that during this year alone, Indian police arrested over 3,066 people including minor boys, youth, students and Hurriyet leaders, activists and put them in jails.

It said that after the extrajudicial killing of popular youth leader, Burhan Wani, on July 8, 2016, over 169 civilians have been killed and more than 20,626 injured so far.
