Quetta massacre: PM directs CM, Information minister to reach Quetta

Amid sit-in of victims of Quetta deadly blasts, Prime Minster Raja Pervez Ashraf Saturday directed Chief Minister Balochistan Aslam Raisani to cut off his foreign trip and reach the troubled city immediately.
The Prime Minister also directed Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira to reach Quetta to communicate with victims of Friday blast which left over hundred people killed.
The Prime Minster also called Governor Balochistan, Zulfiqar Ali Maghsi and discussed post blast situation in the provincial capital.
Raja Pervez Ashraf assured him of all possible cooperation for peace in the province.
The PM insured that all the possible measures will be taken up for the protection of citizens.
The Prime Minister advised authorities to send C-130 aircrafts in Quetta to shift serious wounded people to Karachi for better treatment.
He also announced monetary relief for the victims: Rs. 1 million for each killed and one hundred thousand for each injured in Thursday's deadly bomb blasts in Quetta.
The federal government is raring to make available its assistance to the provincial government for security of the people, he added.
Meanwhile, the sit-in of the heirs of those killed in the bomb blast at Alamdar Road, Quetta has continued for second day on Saturday despite intense cold and rain.
The protestors have announced to continue the demonstration until the stepping down of the provincial government and handing-over of the city to the armed forces.
The demonstrators, gathered at the site of the attack on the appeal of Quetta Unity Council, include women and children and hold the stance that ‘they will not bury their loved ones unless their demands are met’.
Though several rounds of talks with the government have been held, the mourners hold the stance that ‘practical steps and not verbal assurances’ will end the strike. Meanwhile, government claimed success of the talks, but the council refuted the same.
