Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has started operation against kite flyers and people engaged in illegal business during which two kite flyers were arrested and hundreds of kites were seized. According to details, upon directives of Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif, LDA has started crack downs against kite flyers in the provincial capital. In the first phase of the crackdown two persons were arrested from Gulshan-e- Ravi and Wahdat Colony of the city and hundreds of kites were recovered from their possession. It should be mentioned that Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif taking strict notice of the death of Asif 25, in Sabzazar, due to chemical string used for flying kites, had ordered for taking action against kite flyers. Meanwhile CCPO Lahore has directed all the SHOs of the city to take measures for ensuring implementation of ban on kites flying. One the other hand Mian Shahbaz Sharif has warned the city administration and police officials that they would be held responsible in case of any kites flying related incidents in their jurisdiction.
