Hafiz Gul Bahadur threatens to turn fighters against Pakistan

Hafiz Gul Bahadur, head of his own faction of Pakistani Taliban in northwestern tribal region near Afghan border, has threatened Pakistani government to tear up a peace accord and turn his fighters against the Islamabad. According to Reuters news agency, Bahadur criticised the government for allowing the US to carry out drone attacks in North Waziristan and said the council of militant groups would no longer hold talks with the government. Hafiz Gul Bahadur has an unofficial non-aggression pact with the military. We have been showing patience because of problems being faced by common people but now the government has also resorted to repression on our common people at the behest of foreigners, the news agency quoted Bahadur as saying. According to the reports, the militant leader accused the government of firing mortar bombs on civilians and demolishing a hospital and other buildings in North Waziristan.
