KARACHI - Pakistans leading amateur star Ali Hai of Karachi Golf Club registered three birdies on front nine to return the days best score of par 72 on the opening day of the 54-hole three-day 11th Sindh Amateur Golf Championships which got off to a perfect star under brilliant sunshine on Friday. Ali saved a stroke on 3, 4 and 8th hole but bogeyed the 5 and 7th to return one under par on the outward nine. On inward nine he bogeyed once to get one over 37 to lead the leaderboard. Two strokes behind in second place finished Mubariz Ahmed (KGC) and Hamza Amin with two over 74.Waseem Rana of DHA and Zia Hai , younger brother of Ali Hai , were placed joint fifth with five over 77. Amateur and juniors second round will resume on Saturday (today). Seniors and ladies competition spread over 36 holes and veterans over 18 holes will also begin today.
