OKARA - Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Ameer Syed Munawar Hassan has warned against launching military operation in North Waziristan against Haqqani network, saying such an act will spread war across the country. Addressing media people at Okara Press Club on the telephone on Friday, Syed Munawar Hassan said that the US wanted such an operation to create lawlessness in the country and then exert pressure to place Pakistans nuclear programme under international control. He said that for the sake of his rule, President Asif Ali Zardari like his predecessor Pervez Musharraf could commit anything to the US. He said that the President had no interest in the country and a proof of that is that he has not implemented the Supreme Court orders. The JI Ameer pointed out that as the political temperature was heating up in the country so as the problems of the masses. He was of the opinion that no political party including the ruling PPP had any interest in the solution of these problems. To question, he said that there was no possibility of elections in the near future, adding that interaction, however, was going on among political parties. He said that currently the JIs electoral alliance with any party was pre-mature. He said there would be understanding between parties which had good manifesto for the country and its people.
