OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Different Railways unions under the banner of Rail Mazdor Itehad have announced to launch a movement against the 'privatization of the public utility. We will start a powerful movement on November 23 from Lahore to save the railways, announced the Itehad President Hafiz Salman Butt at a press conference here on Friday. He said that the unions have also decided to become party in the under trial case at Supreme Court regarding railways issues. He said the countrywide labourers would compel to start a movement direct against the rulers in case the government remained stick to its policies to destroy the department. Hafiz Salman held that they could make the trains schedule regular just in 72 hours if they were given trains operation control. We will not allow conspiracies against the public utility, he said, adding all the leadership of various rail unions would participate in the Mazdor Itehad General Council meeting on November 23. He said the low grade employees of the department were in a position of constant fear about the future of the utility and owing to the disappointed circumstances they would start a historic movement against the rails privatization policy.
