CIPE delegation visits KCCI

KARACHI (APP): Centre for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), Washington in collaboration with Institute of Corporate Governance and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan do undertake to analyze the basic hardships, hurdles, impediments and suggest corrective measures for the welfare of the society. The CIPE being affiliated with US Chamber of Commerce undertakes reforms to be made in various sectors of the society , participation of private sector , creation of employment opportunities , social sector reforms , facilitation to the businesses enterprises , said Dr. John Sullivan. Led by Dr Sullivan , the Executive Director CIPE , the CIPE delegation comprised Andrew Wilson, Director for Latin America, Middle East and Asia-CIPE , Ms. Brooke Millis , Programme Officer, South Asia-CIPE, Moin M. Fudda, ONZM, S.I. Country Director-CIPE and Hamid Siddiqui , a statement of KCCI says on Tuesday. The delegation was warmly welcomed by President KCCI Shamim Ahmed Shamsi , Senior Vice President Iftikhar Ahmed Sheikh, Vice President M. Haroon Agar alongwith members Managing Committee of KCCI. During the meeting, President KCCI Shamim Ahmed Shamsi elaborated the role of KCCI in the context of social corporate responsibility. Shamsi highlighted the issues like enabling environment, multiplicity of taxes and tax agencies  development of infrastructure, access from farms to market, SME   financing, amendments in labour laws, management of rate of mark up on financing and  drastic measures to control inflation. The leader of the delegation thanked President KCCI for fruitful discussion he had at the Chamber and assured to augment the role of CIPE for far-reaching reforms and their application towards well being of the neglected and unattended avenues.
