Gas pipeline blown up

QUETTA - A man was gunned down and three others sustained bullet injuries on Tuesday in an armed attack in Quetta while a gas pipeline was also blown up in Dera Bugti district. A group of labourers was present on Shahwak Shah Road in search of work when unidentified armed assailants riding a motorcycle opened indiscriminate firing at them and fled away. As a result, two labourers and a passer-by received critical wounds. They were rushed to the Civil Hospital Quetta, where Abdul Majeed succumbed to his injuries. The condition of injured Sami and Muhammad Ali was stated to be out of danger.  Abdul Majeed belonged to Mianchonon area of Punjab. Police have registered a case against unknown miscreants and termed the incident target killing. In another incident, unknown armed miscreants blew up 16-inch diameter gas pipeline in Peer Koh area of Dera Bugti. Police said that unknown miscreants had fixed explosive device under the foundation of 16-inch diameter gas pipeline. The explosive went off with big bang and damaged the pipeline, causing suspension of gas supply to Peer Koh plant from wells. Meanwhile, spokesman of outlawed Baloch Republican Army (BRA) Sarabaz Baloch calling from unspecified location by phone claimed the responsibility of damaging gas pipeline.  He further claimed that a vehicle of security forces was also attacked with a remote control bomb at Goori area, resulting in death of four personnel of security forces and wounding six others. However, official sources rejected any attack on security forces in aforesaid area. According to another report, unknown armed people hurled a hand grenade at a government boys' school in Khuzdar town. The grenade landed inside the school and exploded, causing damage to the boundary wall of the school.
