Bosch Home Appliances opens first showroom in Lahore

LAHORE (PR): German companies consider Pakistan a preferred destination for trade and business and Pakistani market offers immense potential of bilateral trade between two countries.
These views were shared by BSH Home Appliances FZE CEO Tomas Alonso while inaugurating the newly established Bosch showroom by BSH Hausgeräte GmbH, which has established its first ever official products showroom in DHA Lahore.
The showroom, which has been established with local business partner Mega Home Appliances, was inaugurated in presence of Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yaseen along with BSH Home Appliances FZE CEO Tomas Alonso and Mega Home Appliances CEO Adnan Shah.
Alonso said, “We are targeting to become the No. 1 home appliances supplier in Pakistan by doubling the T/O year-on-year”. Alonso said that in a country like Pakistan, which has been facing power shortage issue, it’s imperative that hundreds of millions of daily usage household appliances such as refrigerators, oven, dishwashers and washing machines etc. consume less energy to save the power and Bosch small and large home appliances are very much efficient in terms of less energy consumption, undoubtedly the best choice for Pakistani households.

Pakistani and Thai Groups sign agreement

LAHORE (PR): World Medical Hospital and Cosmos Health Services (CHS) have signed a joint venture to set up 100 Acute Hospitals and Urgent Care Clinics throughout Pakistan, in order to initiate the latest technologies in the fields of planned surgeries, palliative care and in other areas of advanced medical procedures.
The World Medical Hospital’s senior management visited Lahore to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Cosmos Health Services for a first ever joint venture between a Pakistani and Thai healthcare consortium. The document was mutually signed by the CHS Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ashba Kamran and WMCH Chairman, Dr Chalerm Harnphanich. A large number of dignitaries both from Thailand and Pakistan were also present at the MoU signing ceremony.
The event was hosted by Mrs Ashba Kamran, CEO Cosmos Health Services at Cosmos Health Services’ premises in Lahore. The attendees included Jahanzeb Burana, CEO - Punjab Board of Investment & Trade (PBIT), Surashete Boontinand - Minister Counsellor Deputy Head of Mission, Dr Chalerm Harnphanich - Chairman and CEO Bangkok Chain Hospital PCL (BCH), Kantaporn Harnphanich, Chief Marketing Officer Bangkok Chain Hospital PCL (BCH) and other leading members of the healthcare industry.
Kantaporn Harnphanich gave a very insightful and informative presentation on the healthcare sector in Thailand and shared a brief overview of history and service capacity of The World Medical Hospital and BCH. Jahanzeb Burana congratulated the signatories of the agreement for their pioneering collaboration for providing premium healthcare services in Pakistan. He urged other members of the health industry to follow Cosmos’ lead and build sustaining partnerships across the health sector so the healthcare industry can move past the doctor-run administration. He ensured Cosmos Health Services of PBIT’s continued support going forward.

Bangkok Chain Hospital PCL (BCH) is a leading listed hospital company and was placed on Forbes Asia’s 200 best Under a Billion in 2009. LG announces leadership and business changes

LAHORE/SEOUL (PR): LG Electronics (LG) has announced the appointment of new executives to lead the Mobile Communications Company, Chief Technology Officer and Global Marketing Center as part of its sweeping realignment to better address the challenges ahead. It also named the establishment of the new B2B Company, to expand upon its successful commercial operations and to consolidate existing business to business functions across various LG Electronics divisions.
Hwang Jeong-hwan has been named president and CEO of the LG Mobile Communications Company while current president Juno Cho takes on a new role within LG’s parent company. Dr Park Il-pyung, head of LG’s Software Center, will take on the role of Chief Technology Officer with current CTO Dr Skott Ahn taking on a new position in LG Corp. Han Chang-hee, most recently vice president of appliance marketing communications, has been tapped to lead LG’s worldwide marketing efforts as head of the Global Marketing Center. Brian Na, who led LG’s global marketing efforts for the past two years, will assume the role of president of LG’s Western Europe operations.
To expand upon its success in the commercial sector, LG is establishing the B2B Company to oversee all aspects of business-to-business product sales including energy, information displays, vertical solutions. Kwon Soon-hwang, formerly head of LG’s Business Solutions Company and head of LG’s India operations, has been named president of the newly-formed B2B Company.
The Convergence Business Development Center will be established to identify and initiate corporate-wide initiatives related to artificial intelligence, IoT solutions and device-to-device connectivity.

LUMS School of Education collaborates with KP govt

PESHAWAR (PR): The Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) School of Education (SOE) and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government Tuesday announced a partnership for education and entrepreneurship at an event held at the Chief Minister House, Peshawar. A service level agreement was signed between LUMS and the KP government between Vice chancellor Prof Dr S Sohail H. Naqvi and KP Director General Youth Affairs, Asfandyar Khan Khattak. A service level agreement was also signed between Dr Naqvi and Dr Mohammad Mohsin Khan, Director Institute of Management Sciences.
This landmark collaboration between LUMS and the KP government aims to harness the skills, passion and commitment of largely rural KP youth and to bring them into the economic mainstream as job creators rather than future job seekers. The programme will identify potential entrepreneurs who can be groomed, coached and developed to turn their ideas into viable, sustainable businesses.
Under the programme, the KP government will provide funding to promising business ideas and start-ups with unique products and/or services. The programme structure has been designed by LUMS and entails training various cohorts directly and selecting at least seven universities in KP, preferably those more accessible to young entrepreneurs from rural communities, to join the cohorts with at least two observers/trainees. LUMS will provide oversight and stewardship to these seven universities to bring them to the same level as the cohort being developed by LUMS itself.

13th Vendors Conference of Millat Tractors

LAHORE (PR): Millat Tractors Ltd has been the pioneer in indigenization and has played a major role in setting up of the automotive vendor industry base in the country. Millat has achieved the highest level of localization than any other OEM in Pakistan.
Millat has always taken lead in introducing modern technologies and recently developed Euro-II 3&4 cylinder emission compliant engines in R&D Lab. UCP Faculty of Law organises lecture

LAHORE (PR): Faculty of Law (FoL), University of Central Punjab, recently arranged a motivational lecture for its students. The lecture was delivered by Waqas Qadeer Dar, who is an eminent lawyer. Dar congratulated the law students for choosing one of the noblest professions and advised them to be hardworking, honest and just in their lives. The Dean Faculty of Law along with all other faculty members and students attended the lecture.
At the end, an active question answer session was held. Dean Faculty of Law presented a vote of thanks and souvenir to the honorable guest.
