ISLAMABAD - Ambassador-Designate for Afghanistan Dr. Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal, yesterday called on General Raheel Sharif, Chief of Army Staff and discussed matters of mutual interest including measures to improve security along Pakistan -Afghanistan border.
Islamabad has been seeking Afghan cooperation in securing the Pak-Afghan border to tackle the cross border terrorist attacks. Apart from enhancing intelligence sharing, Pakistan and Afghanistan have recently agreed to increase military to military cooperation.
A number of visits by Afghan key functionaries including intelligence chief and a military delegation recently visited Pakistan and discussed steps to secure the border.
