UBL joins hands with
Silverlake Symmetri
KARACHI (PR): United Bank Limited (UBL) and Silverlake Symmetri, a global technology leader in financial solutions, recently signed a long-term collaboration in Singapore. Both organizations entered into an agreement for joint product development and enhancement. They will work together in implementing Silverlake Symmetri’s Core Banking, MyMoney, Concierge, LOS and CustomerConnect products at the bank. These products have service oriented architecture and acquiring their software development kit will help the Bank in extending better customer management via a single customer centric view across all its applications and products.
UBL is already live with Silverlake Symmetri’s Core Banking Solution in Pakistan and its International operations. Silverlake’s MyMoney, Concierge, CustomerConnect and LOS products, through its Customer Relationship, Teller Services, Internet Banking and Origination applications, will enable UBL to increase its ability to cross- & up-sell, turn its tellers into additional points of sale and extend its Internet banking services and products in the digital world.

Grand Turkish Festival at Port Grand
KARACHI (PR): Turkey and Pakistan share a common cultural heritage that brings both countries closer to celebrate art, culture, trade and tourism. This is the very reason Consulate General of Turkey along with Turkish Airlines and some of the major Turkish enterprises have decided to host a Grand Turkish Festival in Karachi from 19th to 21st February to enable Karachiites to experience the diverse and rich cultural heritage of the Turks. Consul General of Republic of Turkey Murat M. Onart shared these views while addressing the media in a press briefing at Port Grand on Friday.
He said that as a sequel to the many successful events held at Port Grand, the Consulate General of Turkey has chosen Port Grand to host the Turkish Festival. Consequently, Karachi, the city of lights will witness a three day Grand Turkish Festival, each day from 5pm to past midnight, Port Grand will be dressed in great Turkish themes, with spectacular performances and exhibits that will be enabled by a large contingent of artists, performers and culinary specialists all specially flown in from Turkey to mesmerize the audience.
General Manager Turkish Airline Fatih Atacan Temel announced that Turkish Airlines is celebrating its 35th Anniversary and it will be starting two daily flights from Karachi to Turkey in the last week of February. He also announced the chance to win two return air tickets a day- 6 tickets in 3 days, for the visitors of the Grand Turkish Festival. Mr. Fatih while highlighting the growing relationship between Turkey and Pakistan said that it is resulting in a substantially expanding traffic between the two countries for tourists and business.

ISLAMABAD (PR): 11 young entrepreneurs, leading 11 exciting startups, have graduated from The Founder Institute Islamabad with sponsorship from Telenor Pakistan that comprised mentoring in some specialized areas and a financial component. Samsung wins two ‘social responsibility’ awards
KARACHI (PR): The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives of Samsung Electronics (Pakistan) Ltd. won two prestigious accolades at the ‘5th Annual CSR Summit and CSR Gallery’, organised by ‘The Professionals Network’ (TPN) and ‘Ethical Business Update’ (EBU) in Karachi, recently. This is the first and only CSR awards forum in Pakistan which is officially registered with IPO.
The President of Samsung Pakistan – J H Lee along with the ‘Head of Marketing &Communications’ at Samsung – M.Saad ul Hassan, attended the 5th CSR Summit, to receive these prestigious awards, granted to Samsung in the categories of ‘Public Health & Safety’ and ‘Crisis & Disaster Assistance’.
Samsung’s ‘Public Health and Safety’ initiatives include its donation of 2 hi-tech Echocardiography units and one Ultrasound Color Doppler machine to Jinnah Hospital Karachi. Samsung is also donating well equipped mobile health units, to the Punjab and KPK governments, for providing Free-of-Cost treatment to thousands of poor patients.
The Crisis/Disaster Assistance Award was granted as Samsung Pakistan has always been at the forefront of large-scale relief and rehabilitation activities, whenever the country has suffered from natural disasters like earth-quakes or floods. Over the years, Samsung has extended generous help in fulfilling the basic food and shelter needs of thousands of families, left homeless after such calamities.
