The government is implementing a comprehensive programme for the welfare and uplift and raising the living standards of people said State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmad.
Addressing a function at Ziarat Park here on Friday, he said that “Provision of maximum facilities to the common man is the top priority of the government. Public welfare projects are being completed on war-footing,” he said. He said that projects worth billions of rupees have been initiated for the development of urban areas as well as strengthening the rural economy.
He said that millions of rupees are being spent on different development projects including construction of boundary walls of schools and allocation of land for graveyards. He also announced allocation of two kanal lands for graveyard.
He said that CPEC is a game changer project of and it will bring prosperity to the country. While talking about local development, he said that gas facility to 56 villages is being provided while different roads are being metalled and repaired.
Earlier, in his welcome address Qamar Abbas Naqvi apprised the minister regarding different problems of the area and thanked him for allocating land for the graveyard of Syed Community. AC Nazarat Ali, Cantonment Board Vice Chairman Malik Shahnawaz, Khadim Hussain Naqvi Karbalai, Brig(r) Haider Abbas, PML-N City President Ghulam Samdani, councillor Tahir Awan and Ashraf Butt were also present on the occasion.
