Nabi Yousaf Memorial Polo Cup 2016

LAHORE - Diamond Paints and Adiosseo made their ways to Nabi Yousaf Memorial Polo Cup 2016 final after finishing on top at their respective pools.
In the first match played at the Lahore Polo Club (LPC) ground on Friday, although Army Remounts outpaced Adisseo 6-3½ yet the losing side qualified for the main final due to better points on points table. Army Remounts started the match on high note and kept on dominating till the third chukker as they managed to collect four goals in the first three chukkers. Major Haseeb Minhas slammed two back-to-back goals in the first chukker while Maj Gen Isfandiyar Pataudi hit one in the second and Shah Shamyl Alam contributed one in the third chukker.
Adisseo made their presence felt in the fourth chukker by scoring two back-to-back goals – one each by Shah Qubilai Alam and Abdul Rehman Monnoo. Army Remounts then bounced back again and added two more in their tally to finish the match at 6-2. Shah Shamyl Alam contributed two goals. With one and half goal handicap advantage, the final score was 6-3½. Agha Murtaza Ali Khan and Max Charlton officiated the match as field umpires while Raja Taimur Nadeem was referee.
In the highly-charged second match of the day, Diamond Paints overwhelmed Royal Palm/Master Paints 9-6. Raja Taimur Nadeem was top scorer with four goals while Ahmed Ali Tiwana hit three and Saqib Khan Khakwani contributed one. For the losing side, Juan Cruz Losada although managed to score three goals yet he seemed off colour and couldn’t help his team register victory. Hamza Mawaz Khan, Mumtaz Abbas Niazi and Sufi Farooq converted one goal each. The umpires for the match were Hissam Ali Hyder and Matias Vial Perez while Maj Haseeb Minhas was referee.
